TRIBAL WOOD ART

KEN HORST:

Is a "Dream State" designer. He explains further that during the daylight hours in his conscious thought, he may be working with a basic idea or design. However, this rough concept becomes fleshed out at night in his dreamtime through visual patterns that manifest as complete images.

Those who have seen Ken's work comment that his designs are reminiscent of Native American or Aboriginal cultures. Ken's response to this observation is that he doesn't know where these creations come from since they appear to him fully formed as dream images. It may be that as Carl G. Jung described in his explorations into the unconscious mind that Ken is tapping into the "collective unconscious" of humankind where a wealth of symbol images reside. Jung believed that these motifs were unconsciously deposited over the ages into a kind of collective and universal memory bank for all of humanity to draw from in their process of meaning making.

MASKS :

WALL ART :

Intricate wall plaques that carry ancient energetic codes and sacred geometry patterns.

TALKING STICKS :

Each design, rattle or silent, is slowly handcrafted from local fallen wood and is a one of a kind creation.
